Inheritance from a Parent

When Does Inheritance From a Parent Start?

There are many circumstances that can lead to a family dispute over inheritance. These disputes can be resolved with the help of an estate attorney. The best way to avoid any problems is to leave an equal inheritance to each of your children. If you give a sibling or other child a substantial gift while you are alive, make sure to mention this in your Will. This will prevent fights over the inheritance.

Intestacy

If there is no written will, the property will be distributed according to the laws of intestacy. If there are no surviving children, the administrator will distribute the property to the heirs at law, which includes the parents, siblings, and grandchildren. The administrator will also need to create an inventory of the estate’s assets. He or she will also be required to pay all of the debts. In order to protect the inheritance, it’s a good idea to have an experienced probate lawyer review the case and advise you on the best course of action.

Estate Executor

The process of inheritance is usually time consuming. It can take months to complete the distribution of an estate. It is also important to establish clear expectations for the beneficiaries, so that they know what they can expect from the inheritance. The estate executor can help to make this process as smooth as possible. The executor will need to contact the beneficiaries to explain the expected timeline of distribution. They will also need to make certain that the beneficiaries understand how much money they may lose if they do not receive their inheritance in a timely manner.

Ogden /ˈɒɡdən/ is a city in and the county seat of Weber County,[6] Utah, United States, approximately 10 miles (16 km) east of the Great Salt Lake and 40 miles (64 km) north of Salt Lake City. The population was 87,321 in 2020, according to the US Census Bureau, making it Utah’s eighth largest city.[7] The city served as a major railway hub through much of its history,[8] and still handles a great deal of freight rail traffic which makes it a convenient location for manufacturing and commerce. Ogden is also known for its many historic buildings, proximity to the Wasatch Mountains, and as the location of Weber State University.

Ogden is a principal city of the Ogden–Clearfield, Utah Metropolitan Statistical Area (MSA), which includes all of Weber, MorganDavis, and Box Elder counties. The 2010 Census placed the Metro population at 597,159.[9] In 2010, Forbes rated the Ogden-Clearfield MSA as the 6th best place to raise a family.[10] Ogden has had a sister city relationship to Hof in Germany since 1954. The current mayor is Mike Caldwell.
